China Region Lakes Alliance
The China Region Lakes Alliance (CRLA) was founded in 1995 and covers the towns of China, Vassalboro, and Windsor, along with several pond associations and the Kennebec Water District. The organization offers LakeSmart evaluations to help lakefront property owners reduce runoff and erosion.

China Lake Association
The China Lake Association (CLA) was founded in 1987 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. The CLA is currently focused on restoring China Lake to meet state water quality standards, guided by its 2022 to 2032 Watershed-based Management Plan.
