Overview
The China Emergency Services Assessment Committee was newly formed in 2026 and held its first meeting on April 16, 2026. Its charge is to perform a comprehensive, objective evaluation of the town’s fire and ambulance services, and to determine whether the existing volunteer model continues to provide the highest level of public safety, or whether a municipal or hybrid structure would improve service quality, operational resilience, and long-term sustainability.
The committee is working with an outside consultant, Paul Froman, under a consulting contract approved by the town.
